The effect of mechanical ventilationA. Network maps for spontaneously breathing patients and those undergoing mechanical ventilation during physiological signal recording are presented. The graphs display the mean TE values (in bits) for each edge. Edges shown in red represent TEs that are significantly higher (P < 0.05) in one group compared to the other. Edge weighting corresponds to the magnitude of information flow. Abbreviations: HR, heart rate; RR, respiratory rate; SpO2, oxygen saturation.B. Comparison of TEs, Indegrees and Outdegrees between survivors and non-survivors, excluding patients who underwent mechanical ventilation. P-values were calculated using either Student’s t-test and Mann-Whitney U test based on distribution of data.
