Pangenomics of Candidatus Bipolaricaulota in hydrothermal aquifers of Biga Peninsula, Turkey

We surveyed the microbial diversity of eleven different deep geothermal aquifers and springs across the tectonically active Biga Peninsula (Turkey), a hydrothermal setting that is historically undersampled for environmental microbial community assessments. Across geothermal settings ranging in temperature from 35-80 oC, one the most highly represented groups was affiliated with the uncultivated group ‘Candidatus Bipolaricaulota’.
