#Sonar Opinion Polls: #-------------------- #From August 1989 Sonar has regularly carried out a number of opinion polls, i.e. surveys of attitudes and habits of life of the adult Danish population. The opinion polls have been carried out approx. 10 times a year, and each opinion poll includes about six different subjects as well as the question of the respondent's voting intention at a hypothetical general election on the day of the interview. # The opinion polls have been carried out in collaboration with the daily paper Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten. The subjects for the individual opinion polls are agreed upon at meetings between the editorial staff of Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten and Sonar; however, the wording of the questions is the sole responsibility of Sonar. # The following background information is included in the data material: #The household: #- Total number of persons #- Sex and age of the household members #- Type of dwelling #- Car in household #- Geocode-2 # #The respondent: #- Year of birth #- Sex #- Gainful employment #- Designation of occupation #- Membership of a trade organization #- If yes: Which organization #- Vote at the last general election #- Driving in own car # #Sonar Opinion Polls, 1992: #-------------------------- In 1992 Sonar carried out 11 opinion polls. All the questions are included in DDA-1701: Sonar Opinion Polls, 1992. In addition, the individual opinion polls are found in DDA-1702 to DDA-1712. # #This survey (DDA-1712 Sonar Opinion Polls 1992: November) deals with the following issues: #Party preference; preferred government after the next general election; prime minister preference in a new government; the Tamil case (is it a matter of principle or is it political/tactical, attitude to Poul Schlüter's possibilities if the Tamil report, which is published in January 1993, is incriminating for him, assessment of the role of Poul Schlüter and of Erik Ninn-Hansen in the Tamil case, whether the Tamil case has changed the respondent's general attitude to politics, and interest in following the case); expected Christmas expenditure; attitude to the Danish EC memorandum, the so-called 'national compromise', being legally binding; attitude to giving up some of the demands in order to get the other EC member states to accept the Danish deal; attitude to possible consequences if the other countries do not agree to the Danish deal; attitude to the number of refugees in Denmark; attitude to the integration of these refugees; attitude to compulsory Danish instruction for refugees; whether refugees who have obtained asylum in Denmark should have the opportunity of receiving instruction in their national languages; expectations of 1993 as regards Denmark's economic situation, the family's standard of living and the unemployment rate; and use of various discount schemes
