Survey of Economic Opportunity, 1967

<p>The Survey of Economic Opportunity (SEO) was conducted by the Bureau of the Census at the request of the Office of Economic Opportunity in order to augment the information regularly collected in the Current Population Surveys (CPS) for February and March of the year. In addition to a number of items common to both surveys (such as age, family status, work experience and income), the SEO also provides information on other characteristics such as housing, marital history, training, assets and liabilities. The main purpose in collecting this information was to provide a base for micro-analytic research in exploring the causes and correlates of poverty.</p>

经济机会调查（Survey of Economic Opportunity，SEO）由美国人口普查局应经济机会局的委托开展，旨在补充当年2月与3月开展的当前人口调查（Current Population Surveys，CPS）所常规收集的信息。该调查除包含两项调查共有的多项统计条目（如年龄、家庭状况、工作经历与收入等）外，还涵盖住房、婚姻史、培训情况、资产与负债等其他特征相关信息。本次信息采集的核心目标，是为微观分析研究提供基础数据，以探究贫困的成因及其关联因素。
