The most popular spirit brand on Facebook in India as of April 2020 was Signature with over one million fans. Owned by United Spirits Limited, it was also known as McDowell's Signature - a blend of imported Scotch whisky and locally-sourced products. The brand had a significant lead on the social network compared to others in the same category. Royal Challenge, also owned by USL came in second at nearly 390 thousand fans. Bangalore's IPL team was named after the Indian whisky brand even though it partners with other teams in the cricket league. Additionally, it also powers Sahara Force India, the Formula One team.
