We selected 45 samples from 15 batches as study samples, including three samples in each batch from three sample groups (D5, F7, and M8). In each batch, three samples from one replicate of each sample group (D5-1, F7-1, and M8-1) were used in the balanced scenario. The fraction-of-total (FOT) is used to represent the normalized abundance of a particular protein, which was defined as a protein’s iBAQ value divided by the total iBAQ of all identified proteins within one sample.
