Treating Sleep Disturbance During Chemotherapy: Evaluating Novel Interventions in Women with Breast Cancer

Sleep-wake disturbance is a significant complaint in women receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer. However, sleep problems often go unrecognised during active cancer treatment. If left untreated, cancer-related sleep disturbance may lead to worse psychiatric and physical consequences that can continue well beyond cancer treatment completion. This work contributes to the understanding of sleep-wake disturbance during chemotherapy and presents innovative approaches in targeting poor sleep and daytime impairment during this period. Results generally support the utility for disseminating accessible, evidence-based interventions early in the cancer process.
