In this study, we explored the plant growth promoting traits and rhizocompetence of the putative plant growth promoting rhizobacterium (PGPR) Kosakonia radicincitans str. YD4 on Yerba Mate plants (Ilex paraguariensis St. Hill.). We studied the effect of bio-inoculation with YD4 on the composition of soil bacteria using Yerba Mate seedling in nursery during five weeks. Our results demonstrate that inoculation with YD4 resulted in increased plant growth and could be used as a successful bio-inoculant for Yerba Mate.
