ADCP Svanesund 2015

A bottom mounted, upward-looking, RDI Workhose 600 kHz broadband ADCP was deployed on the sill in Svanesund at position (N58.134 E11.833  ) in the periods 2015-01-26 to 2015-03-13 (at 18 m depth) and 2015-03-13 to 2015-05-28 (at 16.3 m depth). The ADCP was set up with 1 m vertical bins, 10 min ensembles, and 50 pings per ensemble.

Files:

The SVANE001.000 and SVANE002.000 files contains raw data from the instrument for the two periods.

The Svanesund1501.mat and Svanesund1503.mat files are matlab format exports of the raw data using the WinADCP software.

The Svanesund1501_proc.mat and Svanesund1503.mat files are matlab format files containing processed data, where the main processing is to estimate the depth of each bin, and remove data before and after the deployment and above the levels influenced by the surface. The variable in these files are:

t: Time in decimal days ince 0000 00:00

z: Vertical coordinate of each bin in m relative to mean surface postion

u: East velocity (m/s)

v: North velocity (m/s)

w: Vertical velocity (m/s)

up: Velocity projected to 20deg, main channel direction (m/s)

Err: Error velocity (m/s)

ea: Echo amplitude
