Children Living in Families with Parental Mental Illness and/or Substance Abuse. Participation, Competence Development and Support, 2018

This study is about children/adolescents who grow up with parents who have substance abuse or mental health problems, and consists of three sub-projects: 1) children's everyday lives and their perceptions of safety, well-being and support, 2) meeting points between children, parents and professionals helpers, and 3) correlations between different parental variables and the child's development.
The data base is qualitative interviews with 32 children and adolescents, 16 parents, focus groups with professionals with various health and social careers, and participant observation in 7 conversation groups with more than 50 children. Sub-project 3 is based on quantitative data from 43 mother/child dyads where mother has substance abuse problems.

本研究针对成长于父母存在物质滥用（substance abuse）或心理健康问题家庭的儿童与青少年展开，共设置三个子项目：1. 儿童的日常生活及其对安全感、幸福感与支持资源的感知；2. 儿童、父母与专业帮扶人员之间的互动场景；3. 各类父母相关变量与儿童发展水平间的相关性。本研究的数据集涵盖三类资料：针对32名儿童及青少年、16名父母的质性访谈（qualitative interviews），面向不同健康与社会服务领域专业人员的焦点小组讨论（focus groups），以及对7个儿童谈话小组开展的参与式观察（participant observation），总计覆盖超过50名儿童。子项目3则基于43对存在物质滥用问题的母亲/儿童二元组（mother/child dyads）的量化数据（quantitative data）构建。
