Tree species diversity has a strong impact on ecosystem function and services, especially carbon (C) storage. However, current diversity experiment in forest ecosystem have primarily focused on aboveground components. Here, we evaluated the total C and its allocation between above- and belowground biomass (Shoot C: Root C ratio), as well as between plant biomass and soil (Plant C: SOC ratio), in relation to tree species richness, functional diversity and identity in a subtropical tree diversity experiment.
树木物种多样性对生态系统功能与服务具有显著影响,尤以碳储存(carbon storage)最为突出。然而当前森林生态系统的多样性实验多聚焦于地上组分。本研究依托亚热带树木多样性实验平台,针对树木物种丰富度、功能多样性及树种特性,评估了总碳储量及其在地上生物量(aboveground biomass)与地下生物量(belowground biomass)间的分配(即枝条碳与根系碳比值(Shoot C: Root C ratio)),同时分析了植物生物量与土壤间的碳分配关系(即植物碳与土壤有机碳(Soil Organic Carbon, SOC)比值)与上述因子的关联。
