During voyage 3 of the RSV Nuyina during the 2025/2025 season to the region offshore the Denman glacier, rock samples were recovered to understand i) the continental geology of the Bruce Rise, ii) the onshore geology of the Denman region (from ice-rafted debris samples), and iii) the timing and mechanism driving formation of seamounts (extinct seafloor volcanoes).The voyage was colloquially known as the "Denman Marine Voyage", as it operated in the vicinity of the Denman Glacier. Rock samples were recovered from dredge (DXX), beam trawl (BT-Y), kasten core (KCXX), and multicore (MCXX) deployments during the voyage (where XX is the sequential deployment number, and Y is the sequential deployment letter).Folders in this dataset are named by their deployment type and number/letter. Within each folder there are i) descriptions of each rock/sediment sample, and ii) photographs of each sample. Descriptions are preliminary and were undertaken on board look at the hand samples, and sawn hand samples using a hand lens. Dredged rocks were described and photographed individually. For the case of sawn rock saws, photographs of the cut surfaces both dry and wet were taken. Beam trawled rocks were sorted into groupings and a description and photographed in these groups. Samples from kasten cores and multicores were described individually. Photographs of the kasten core and multicore rocks sometimes contain multiple different samples per photograph.
在2025/2025航季,努伊纳号南极研究船(RSV Nuyina)的第三次考察航次前往登曼冰川(Denman Glacier)周边海域开展作业,本次航次共采集岩石样本,以达成三项研究目标:① 解析布鲁斯海隆(Bruce Rise)的大陆地质特征;② 通过冰筏碎屑样本探究登曼区域的陆上地质情况;③ 明确海山(seamounts,灭绝海底火山)的形成时间与驱动机制。本次航次俗称为“登曼海域航次”,因作业区域位于登曼冰川周边海域。本次航次通过拖网采样(dredge,DXX)、桁杆拖网(beam trawl,BT-Y)、箱式岩心(kasten core,KCXX)与多管岩心(multicore,MCXX)作业获取岩石样本,其中XX为连续作业编号,Y为连续作业字母标识。本数据集的文件夹以作业类型及编号/字母命名。每个文件夹内包含两类内容:① 各岩石/沉积物样本的描述文档;② 各样本的实拍照片。样本描述均为初步结果,由科考人员在船上通过手持放大镜对原始手标本及锯切手标本进行观测后完成。拖网采集的岩石将单独进行描述与拍照。针对锯切岩石样本,需分别拍摄其干燥与湿润状态下的切面照片。桁杆拖网采集的岩石将按类别分组,随后对各组进行统一描述并拍摄照片。箱式岩心与多管岩心获取的样本将单独进行描述。箱式岩心及多管岩心样本的实拍照片中,单张照片有时会包含多个不同样本。
