We sample the odd-numbered papers (excluding review articles and posters) from the proceedings published by IJCAI, ICML, and ACL in 2021, selecting the abstract and introduction sections as the original corpus for manual annotation of research gap sentences. The syntactic complexity indices of each research gap sentence are then calculated using L2SCA and Coh-Metrix.
