Data to accompany the article 'Antipredator Defences Predict Diversification Rates'. Key to data: NA = missing data; 0 = absence; 1 = presence; 0/1 = polymorphic; ? = uncertain Key to column headings: con = conspicuous coloration; cd = chemical defence; con0 = conspicuous coloration recoded with ambiguous species considered cryptic (conspicuousness absent); con1 = conspicuous coloration recoded with ambiguous species considered conspicuous. In the latter two categories, ambiguous refers to coloration coded as either polymorphic or uncertain in the original coding ('con' column). The 'bin' column is simply an index to enable ordering identical to the tip labels in the phylogenetic tree used in the paper. References from which data were gathered are listed in the supplementary material of the paper
