Oryza sativa cv. Nipponbare whole genome

The rice genome project has sequenced the genome of Oryza sativa Japonica group cv. Nipponbare, and the sequence is now released as the IRGSP build 5 genome. Although the seqeunce is highly stringent, there are still a number of seqeuncing errors and some differences among the same Nipponbare strains maintained in differrent regions. We reasequenced Oryza sativa Japonica group cv. Nipponbare that has been maintained in our institute, Iwate Biotechnology Research Center. We detected a substantial number of SNPs and short indels between the IRGSP build 5 genome and our Nipponbare genome. Many of the variants were from chromosome 4, indicating that the genomes of the two rice strains slightly differ, especially in the chromosome 4. none provided
