The purpose of this study was to:<br> examine how far local residents have participated in three river restoration projects on the rivers Skerne (Darlington), Cole (Coleshill) and Medway (East Peckham);<br> analyse how far river restoration is seen as restoring the 'natural' condition by local residents and restoration managers;<br> contribute to the academic understanding of the contested status of environmental management with particular reference to the theorisation of the 'local' and 'natural';<br> recommend to river restoration managers ways in which public participation and appreciation of the projects might be enhanced.
本研究的目的在于:
考察当地居民对斯凯恩河(Skerne,达灵顿)、科尔河(Cole,科希尔)以及梅德韦河(Medway,东佩卡姆)三项河流修复工程的参与程度;
分析当地居民与河流修复管理者在多大程度上认为河流修复能够还原河流的“自然”状态;
丰富环境管理争议性地位的学术认知,尤其围绕“本地性”与“自然性”的理论建构展开;
为河流修复管理者提供提升公众对修复项目的参与度与认可度的可行路径。
