Whole transcriptome sequencing of Aspergillus terreus. Aspergillus terreus endophytic fungus isolated from roots of Asparagus racemosus

Aspergillus terreus is an endophytic fungus isolated from roots of Asparagus racemosus. Aspergillus terreus was found to be highest saponin producer among all isolated strains. Saponin have vast range of application in pharmaceuticals like therapeutic potential as immunomodulatory, hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, antioxidant, anti-obesity, anti-asthmatic, anti-hypertensive, anti-carcinogenic, and anti-microbial agents.In the present study, de novo transcriptome sequencing and assembly were performed to explore genes involved in saponin biosynthesis pathways.
