Microstructure data from JCR cruise JR18004 collected using Rockland Vertical Microstructure Profiler, January-February 2019.

This is a dataset of microstructure data collected during the JR18004 cruise onboard RRS James Clark Ross, around Orkney Passage and Discovery Bank in the Scotia Sea of the Southern Ocean. The data were collected in January and February 2019 as part of the ORCHESTRA research programme, to understand mixing in Orkney Passage and over Discovery Bank in the Weddell-Scotia confluence. A Rockland Scientific Vertical Microstructure Profiler (VMP) 5500 was used to collect these data.

本数据集为搭载于英国皇家研究舰詹姆斯·克拉克·罗斯号（RRS James Clark Ross）的JR18004科考航次所采集的微结构数据，采集区域覆盖南大洋斯科舍海的奥克尼水道与发现浅滩周边海域。该数据采集于2019年1月至2月，作为ORCHESTRA研究计划的组成部分，旨在探究威德尔-斯科舍汇流区内奥克尼水道及发现浅滩上方的水体混合过程。本次数据采集使用洛克兰科学公司立式微结构剖面仪（Vertical Microstructure Profiler，简称VMP）5500。
