Cumberland Conservation Corridor – refining the Londonderry Reserve Project 2

The two primary objectives of the project are: 1) to increase the resilience of the nationally threatened Cumberland Plains woodlands and ameliorate existing threats by protecting the values of Londonderry Reserve, a prime example of Cumberland Plain Woodland, that is located within an important mosaic of remnant vegetation that provides both east-west and north-south fauna corridors through the Cumberland Plain, and 2) to provide opportunities for people to connect with nature for their health and wellbeing. The project aims to enhance the long-term survival and protection of a number of species and communities listed as threatened nationally.

本项目的两大核心目标如下：其一，提升受国家保护的坎伯兰平原林地（Cumberland Plain Woodland）的生态韧性，并通过保护伦敦德里保护区（Londonderry Reserve）的生态价值以缓解现存威胁——该保护区作为坎伯兰平原林地的典型代表，坐落于一片重要的残存植被镶嵌体中，该镶嵌体可提供贯穿坎伯兰平原的东西向与南北向动物迁徙廊道（fauna corridor）；其二，为民众提供亲近自然的契机，以助力其身心健康与福祉提升。本项目旨在强化若干被列为国家受威胁物种与群落的长期存续与保护水平。
