NRS-1342 | Ledger [Commissariat]

The Commissary of Accounts was required to make quarterly accounts on the 24th day of March, June, September, and December. There is no indication that any accounts were made up on 24 September 1824, probably because the record had not yet been kept for a complete quarter, the earliest entries being dated 21 August 1824. The Ledger is made out under names of establishments or departments receiving articles, and under each heading shows debit and credit accounts arranged chronologically. Articles are not listed, but merely the names of the particular account to which articles were debited or credited. There is a number in a column opposite each entry which is the appropriate page number in the Journal. (4/1691). 1 vol.
