Digital Emergency Communication (DIGeMERGE), Denmark

Digital Emergency Communication (DIGeMERGE) studies the use of digital communication platforms and tools in four highly digitalized European countries; Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Using a grounded, applied approach, DIGeMERGE examines the scope and implications of the digitalization of emergency communication in these four countries, including debates about privacy and data protection and efforts to integrate user-generated content into emergency responses.

DIGeMERGE is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme as a part of the Collaboration of Humanities and Social Sciences in Europe (CHANSE) program "Transformations: Social and cultural dynamics in the digital age".

The data gathered in a NORSTAT survey are collected, processed and used in line with the strict requirements of the GDPR and national data protection legislation in the country where the surveys are conducted. NORSTAT only processes and uses the data collected as far as is necessary to carry out legally admissible research. The data for individual studies are analyzed in anonymized form. The participants' personal data (such as address) is kept completely separate from their answers. Consent is voluntary and may be withdrawn at any time. NORSTAT complies with the general data privacy provisions and legal guidelines of ESOMAR (European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research).
