The draft genome sequences of six strains of bacteria degrade PHB, a biodegradable plastic, have been sequenced. These strains were isolated from marine biodegradable test samples of PHB. The genome sizes range from 4.5 Mb to 6.6 Mb, and they are phylogenetically distinct from known PHB degrading bacteria.
