Protein structures available from the PDB contain for each atom the coordinates, the occupancy and the B-factor that indicates the mobility of the atom. The values that should represent B-factors can relate to atomic motions in different ways. We present here a databank in which all B-factors have been converted to the one, homogeneous representation that is most useful for protein engineering applications.

可从蛋白质数据库（Protein Data Bank，PDB）获取的蛋白质结构，会为每个原子存储其坐标、占位率（occupancy）以及表征原子运动性的B因子（B-factor）。B因子的取值可通过多种方式与原子运动相关联。我们在此发布一款数据库，该库中所有B因子均已被转换为单一统一的表示形式，该形式在蛋白质工程应用中极具实用价值。
