Microbiome of seawater samples incubated with brown algae carbohydrates.. seawater metagenome

Seawater samples were collected from the seacoast of Aichi Prefecture (Japan). The samples were mixed with equal volumes of alginate- or mannitol-containing medium, followed by incubation at 30°C. At the time points of logarithmic growth phase and stationary growth phase, the microbes were collected and analyzed.
