Raw data

We collected samples from a junior high school in a Chinese city, of these, 366 are boys and 391 are girls. Before distributing questionnaires, we have gained consent from the school principals and teachers.

There are 53 items in the original data in our SPSS file. After exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, we deleted some items, including P1, M4, C1, C4, A20, A26, A34.    

The items included in each dimension of the article are as follows. Perceived teacher support is made up of PTS1, PTS2, PTS3, PTS4, PTS5. Mathematics motivation is comprised of M1, M2, M3. Perseverance includes P2, P3, P4. Cooperation consists of C2, C3, C5. Emotional control involves EC1, EC2, EC3. Mathematical metacognition includes A1 to A34 except A20, A26, A34.

SPSS 22.0 was used for descriptive statistics and correlation analyses. Mplus 8.0 was adopted for confirmatory factor analysis as well as the establishment of structural equation models.
