Determination of FBXL16 expression pattern and its oncogenic roles in Human Glioblastoma based on proteomic approach using LC-MS/MS analysis

Gliomas are one of the most common primary brain tumours and are graded based on their behavioural pattern and malignancy. Established treatments such as microsurgery, radiation and chemotherapy have proven to be inefficient due to glioma’s highly invasive and aggressive behavior. My work was to study the expression pattern of genes that may have an oncogenic role that can contribute to the cellular and molecular aspect of a high-grade glioma called Glioblastoma. Based on the microarray analysis and proteomics work, we have uncovered a role for FBXL16, a member of the protein ligase that may confer oncogenic properties in Glioblastoma.
