The ordinary differential equations (ODE) model created with Matlab. This model corresponds to the canonical 5 state (along normal sugar transport cycle) cartoon model in Fig 3 with a substrate slip. The file format is native Matlab, and it can be opened and run with Matlab. The model is run by opening Matlab, navigating to the directory containing the code (file_name.m file) and typing the name of the file (without “.m”) at the command prompt. When run, the code will generate 3 figures: 1) the first figure corresponds to Fig 4 from the main text, 2) the second figure corresponds to Fig 5 in the main text, and 3) the final the third figure corresponds to Fig 6 in the main text.
