Dataset of breaking down the ecological stability of a giant kelp forest community

Here we analysed the resistance, resilience, and recovery of aggregate functions and composition of a community exposed to the experimental removal of the giant kelp <em>Macrocystis pyrifera</em>. We studied a species-rich macrobenthic community in a sub-Antarctic perennial kelp forest that regularly thins and recovers during the year. A pulsed loss of giant kelp from extreme destructive storms was mimicked and the understorey was monitored for 12 months.

本研究针对经实验移除巨藻（Macrocystis pyrifera）的群落，分析了其聚合功能与群落组成的抗性、恢复力及恢复能力。我们以亚南极多年生海藻林中物种丰富的大型底栖群落为研究对象，该海藻林每年会周期性出现种群稀疏与自然恢复过程。本研究模拟了极端破坏性风暴引发的巨藻脉冲式损失，并对海藻林下层群落开展了为期12个月的持续监测。
