Parkes observations for project P1059 semester 2020APRS_13

We propose to observe a sample of 22 pulsars at high Galactic latitudes with the Parkes Ultra-Wideband Low (UWL) receiver. This sample of pulsars does not have flux densities nor polarisation measured before. The goal is to characterise their wideband properties in polarisation, spectrum and interstellar scintillation. Such properties will help us develop imaging pulsar search techniques for future radio continuum surveys, such as with the Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP). Wideband spectrum, polarisation and scintillation of pulsars will also be useful for studies of pulsar radiation mechanism and interstellar medium at high Galactic latitudes.

我们提议使用帕克斯超宽频低（Ultra-Wideband Low, UWL）接收机，对22颗位于银河高纬地区的脉冲星开展观测。该样本中的脉冲星此前均未被测量过流量密度与偏振特性。本次观测的目标是刻画它们在偏振、频谱与星际闪烁方面的宽频特性。这些特性将助力我们研发面向未来射电连续谱巡天的成像脉冲星搜寻技术，例如借助澳大利亚平方千米阵列探路者（Australian SKA Pathfinder, ASKAP）开展的巡天项目。脉冲星的宽频频谱、偏振特性与星际闪烁数据，也将服务于银河高纬地区的脉冲星辐射机制与星际介质研究。
