Taphrina sp. SM11 Genome sequencing and assembly. Taphrina sp. SM11

Taphrina sp. SM11 (OTU3) is being sequenced with the aim of using genomic data to establish that it is a novel species adapted to live in the phyllosphere of Arabidopsis thaliana and also pathogenic on Arabidopsis. Sequence data will also be used for the study of virulence mechanisms, evolution, and comparative genomics in the order Taphrinales. T. sp. SM11 is being developed as a model to study the genetics of plant yeast interactions and the basis of Arabidopsis immunity against yeasts.
