This research aimed to assess the presence and distribution of bacteria in Sulaiman Al-Rajhi University, specifically in the dormitory and campus. Samples were collected from ten selected locations in triplicate, and the total number of colonies produced was 348 from 30 samples, with an average of 11.6 colonies at every site. The highest counts of bacteria were found on the toilet flush and water tap in both the dormitory and campus. Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were the most commonly distributed bacterial strains, and Klebsiella pneumonia and Enterobacter cloacae were found in trace amounts. The results suggest that both the dormitory and campus are contaminated with different strains of bacteria. Antibiotic susceptibility testing showed that Staphylococcus aureus had the highest susceptibility to erythromycin and clindamycin and the lowest susceptibility to penicillin and cephalothin.
