Grey Whale 3D Model 2

On August 30, 2023, a handheld LiDAR device (iPhone running Scaniverse) was used to collect 3D scans of a 12.3-meter adult Grey Whale (Eschrichtius robustus). These scans were conducted during a stranding event at Jarvis Inlet. The handheld LiDAR allowed us to capture highly detailed and accurate morphological data of the adult whale before and after the necropsy commenced.

2023年8月30日，研究人员使用搭载Scaniverse软件的iPhone作为手持激光雷达（LiDAR）设备，于贾维斯湾（Jarvis Inlet）的灰鲸搁浅事件现场，完成了对一头体长12.3米的成年灰鲸（Eschrichtius robustus）的三维扫描数据采集。本次扫描全程开展于该搁浅事件期间，该手持激光雷达设备使得我们能够获取兽尸剖检启动前后该成年灰鲸的高精度、高细节形态学数据。
