Sanctions were the European Union’s (EU) immediate response to Russia’s war against Ukraine and they are a decisive foreign policy tool of the EU. Out of a need for nuanced data, this dataset maps and analyzes the entire set of EU sanctions in force in 2022. The dataset covers the complete track record of Council decisions, regulations, and annexes of these restrictive measures against third countries.
