Soil cadmium pollution has emerged as a critical threat to both ecological systems and human health. As a carcinogen, cadmium accumulates in the human body through the food chain, while conventional physicochemical remediation methods are costly and prone to secondary contamination. Reducing plants' absorption of soil heavy metals, decreasing cadmium accumulation, and enhancing their cadmium tolerance have become crucial priorities. This study focuses on Arabidopsis thaliana to investigate how microorganisms can regulate and improve the cadmium tolerance of common plants.
