Exploring the perceptions of social workers regarding service users with co-occurrence of opioid use and mental health disorders

The study was aimed at exploring and describing the perceptions of social workers regarding service users with opioid use and mental health disorders at the Community-Oriented Substance Use Programme (COSUP). Data was collected through semi-structured interviews guided by an interview schedule, which was analysed through thematic analysis. The findings revealed that social workers play a vital role in managing the co-occurrence of opioid use and mental health disorders. According to the study, lack of support, disparities in resource allocation, and lack of educational training are some of the challenges experienced by social workers that still need to be addressed.

本研究旨在探索并描述社区导向物质使用项目（Community-Oriented Substance Use Programme, COSUP）内，社会工作者针对同时存在阿片类物质使用与精神障碍的服务对象的认知情况。数据采集采用半结构化访谈形式，以访谈提纲为研究指引，随后通过主题分析法对所获数据进行分析。研究结果表明，社会工作者在管控阿片类物质使用与精神障碍共病问题方面发挥着至关重要的作用。本研究指出，社会工作者当前面临的亟需应对的挑战包括支持资源匮乏、资源分配不均以及专业教育培训不足。
