To analyze the distribution of meiotic recombination events in Paramecium tetraurelia, we performed crosses between two strains (strain 32 x strain 51). The level of heterozygosity in the resulting F1's is about 0.3%. We then induced autogamy to obtain F2's. We extracted and sequenced DNA (essentially MAC and mitochondrial DNA) from 42 F2's.
