Single cell sequencing of VZV gE antigen-specific T cells with vaccination and age

Generation and maintenance of a protective, durable T cell memory is incompletely understood. Here, we use single cell sequencing of VZV gE antigen-specific T cells (CD4+ or CD8+) after vaccination of younger or older adults to assess T cell heterogeneity and functional signatures. Overall design: VZV-reactive, human peripheral blood CD4 and CD8+ T cells extracted from vaccine recipent young and older individuals underwent single cell CITESeq (RNA and Protein) and TCR sequencing.
