Frogs on farms

To determine whether wildlife ponds installed adjacent to existing farm dams in the Wimmera and Southern Mallee channel/dam region can attract and support frogs.To determine whether there is any capacity for frog populations in the Northern Mallee Pipeline region, which may still be dormant in and around old dams, to respond to the addition of water through a wildlife pond and re-occupy these sites.

本研究旨在明确两项核心科学问题：其一，威默拉（Wimmera）与南部马利（Southern Mallee）渠道/水坝区域内，紧邻现有农场水坝设置的野生生物池塘（wildlife pond）是否能够吸引并支撑蛙类种群；其二，北马利管道（Northern Mallee Pipeline）区域内，原本可能在旧水坝及其周边处于休眠状态的蛙类种群，是否具备通过新增野生生物池塘获取水源并重新定居上述区域的能力。
