The data reported here were obtained from cultures of the magnetotactic bacterium MV-1 under controlled conditions using either Fe(II)-ascorbate or Fe(III)-citrate as a source of iron. The dataset include: (1) iron isotope composition of the growth media and cellular compartments in cultures, (2) the fraction of cellular iron in lysate versus magnetite, and the difference in their iron isotope compositions, (3) the iron isotope composition measured in the growth medium and calculated for initial dissolved Fe(II) and Fe(III), (4) iron concentration and redox state of the growth media monitored during culture, (5) iron distribution between final growth medium, lysate, magnetosome and magnetite fractions for all culture conditions.

本研究报道的数据集源自受控培养条件下的趋磁细菌MV-1菌株,培养过程中分别以抗坏血酸亚铁(Fe(II)-ascorbate)与柠檬酸铁(III)(Fe(III)-citrate)作为铁源。该数据集包含以下内容:(1) 培养体系与细胞各组分的铁同位素组成;(2) 裂解液组分与磁铁矿组分中的细胞铁占比,以及二者的铁同位素组成差异;(3) 生长培养基中实测的铁同位素组成,以及针对初始溶解态Fe(II)与Fe(III)计算得到的铁同位素组成;(4) 培养过程中监测得到的生长培养基铁浓度与氧化还原状态;(5) 所有培养条件下,最终生长培养基、裂解液、磁小体及磁铁矿各组分间的铁分布情况。
