Raw landmark coordinates

These data are raw geometric morphometric landmark coordinates generated from photographs of carapaces of the Eastern Box Turtle (Terrapene carolina) in dorsal, lateral, and posterior views. Landmarks were generated in TPSDig and TPSDig2 (J. Rohlf, http://life.bio.sunysb.edu/ee/rohlf/software.html). The photographs used to digitize landmarks are included as a separate dataset within this project. <br><br>They were generated for the M.S. Thesis "The Eastern Box Turtle (Terrapene carolina) in space and time" and the manuscript "Delineating taxonomic boundaries and exploring range shifts within and between species in the fossil record using shell variation in the Eastern Box Turtle (<i>Terrapene carolina</i>)", both by N.S. Vitek. <br>In these TPS files, semilandmark curves have already been appended to landmarks and the resulting overlapping landmarks have already been deleted. Landmarks have not yet been superimposed and aligned in this file. Symmetrical views (dorsal, posterior) still contain both symmetrical halves. <br>For the aligned version of these landmarks that were used in the analysis, please see the dataset of aligned coordinates and metadata in this project.

本数据集为基于东部箱龟（*Terrapene carolina*）背视、侧视及后视龟甲照片生成的原始几何形态测量学（geometric morphometric）地标坐标。地标数据通过TPSDig与TPSDig2软件（J. Rohlf，http://life.bio.sunysb.edu/ee/rohlf/software.html）生成。用于地标数字化的照片已作为本项目内的独立数据集收录。

本数据集由N.S. Vitek为其硕士论文《时空维度下的东部箱龟（*Terrapene carolina*）》以及研究手稿《利用东部箱龟（*Terrapene carolina*）的龟甲形态变异划定化石记录内物种间及物种内的分类学界限并探究分布范围变化》所生成。

在本项目的TPS文件中，半地标曲线（semilandmark curves）已附加至地标数据，且已剔除最终产生的重叠地标。本文件中的地标尚未进行叠加对齐操作。对称视图（背视、后视）仍保留了对称的两侧结构。
