Cultured microbiome communities from easy and hard keeper horses

This study demonstrates that the microbiomes of easy and hard keeper horses metabolize carbohydrate and protein sources differently and how the communities change over time in an in vitro dietary challenge. These data give insight into the mechanisms underlying the abilities of these horses to harvest energy and nutrients.
