VPRS 5146 Private Bills Cash Book

This series is a cash book, which records the payment of fees related to the introduction of members bills. It would appear that under the Standing Orders of the Legislative Council, the member introducing the bill was bound to pay a fee to Treasury to meet the expenses of the bill in the Legislative Council. Members also contributed to the cost of printing and publishing bills.The columns record the number of the bill (bills were assigned an annual single number), the date of payment, title of bill, purpose of fee and the amount paid.

本系列为现金账簿，用于记录与议员法案提交相关的各项费用支出。据了解，根据立法会《议事规则》，提交法案的议员须向库务署缴付费用，以承担该法案在立法会审议期间的相关开支；此外议员亦需分摊法案的印刷与出版成本。该账簿各栏目分别记录以下内容：法案编号（法案按年度分配唯一编号）、付款日期、法案名称、费用用途以及实付金额。
