Data Library on Numismatic Attribution and Chemical Composition of Copper Coins of the Golden Horde Period from the Bulgarian Settlement
收藏资源简介:
This dataset accompanies the article "Archaeometric Analysis of Copper Coins from the Golden Horde Period from a Bulgarian Settlement as an Instrument of Artificial Intelligence" published in the Russian Digital Libraries Journal (Vol. 29, No. 4, 2026). The dataset contains data on 98 copper coins from the Golden Horde period found on the territory of the Bulgarian settlement (Republic of Tatarstan, Russia). The collection includes 91 Jochid coins, 6 foreign coins of the same period, and 1 pre-Mongol coin (Zengid dynasty). The dataset comprises:- Numismatic attribution with obverse and reverse photographs, legend descriptions, and references to numismatic literature (in Russian)- Quantitative chemical analysis results obtained by two independent methods (Emission Spectral Analysis and X-Ray Fluorescence) — concentrations of 12 elements (Cu, Ag, As, Au, Bi, Co, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sb, Sn, Zn) for each sample- Group classification: 98 samples are distributed into elemental groups based on characteristic ratios of trace elements (Au/Ag, Ni/Co, As/Sb), interpreted as indicators of the copper source The dataset is intended as a starting platform for the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence methods to medieval Islamic numismatic material — specifically for tasks of automatic coin identification and provenance analysis based on chemical composition.
