Statistics Norway has carried through this survey on assignment form Institute for Social Research (ISF). The survey is a part of the data basis in a larger research project about “contribution, learning and rewarding in the new working life”. The Institute for Sociology and Political Science at NTNY, the Research Foundation Fafo and Ragnar Frich Centre for Economic Research collaborated on the project.
The employer and researchers within the field of working life had a hypothesis that working life has changed a lot over the last years. It was therefore desirable to examine change in the working life and what these changes may have been. Further on, it was interesting to map out the consequences of changes for employees and what employers may gain through the changes.
The sample consisted of 3263 firms within public and private sector with 11 or more employees. In order to collect data over time (longitudinal data), some parts of the sample was drawn form the net sample in a similar survey that was carried through for the same employer in 1997 (Fleksi 97). Consequently, that sample constitutes a panel for this survey (ABU2003) and it is possible to map out changes in some firms from 1996/97 to 2003.
The data files does not include the economical data connected to fims and establishments in ABU 2003.
A reference file with information about the firms for the time period 1997-2003 is also available at NSD. Note that this file cannot be linked directly to the main ABU 2003 file.

雇主群体与工作生活领域的研究者曾提出研究假说:近年以来工作生活已发生显著变革。有鉴于此,研究团队亟需考察工作生活领域的变迁轨迹及其具体表现,并进一步厘清此类变革对雇员产生的影响,以及雇主可从这些变革中获取的收益。
本次调查的样本覆盖公共与私营部门中雇员人数不少于11人的3263家企业。为收集纵向数据(longitudinal data),部分样本取自1997年针对同一雇主群体开展的同类调查(Fleksi 97)的有效样本池。据此,该样本组构成本次ABU2003调查的面板数据集,可用于追踪1996/1997年至2003年间部分企业的变迁情况。
ABU 2003数据集文件未包含与企业及经营机构相关的经济类数据。
另有一份涵盖1997-2003年企业信息的参考文件可在NSD获取。需注意,该参考文件无法与ABU 2003主数据集文件直接关联。
