Biocontrol of White Rot Disease and Growth Promotion of Phaseolus vulgaris Using Endophytic Yeast Isolates

Endophytic yeasts are effective in controlling fungal phytopathogens. A study showed that the use of endophytic yeast bioagents on common bean plants was an effective way to control the incidence and severity of white rot disease caused by S. sclerotiorum. This study tested Cryptococcus albidus and Saccharomyces cerevisiae for their ability to control white-rot disease in beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) under greenhouse conditions in Egypt.
