Multiple elimination is an important technology for marine seismic data processing. Conventional multiple eliminative methods often require high accuracy in predicting multiples. This paper proposes an adaptive attenuation method for multiples based on time-domain transformed traces in the curvilinear wave domain. The method first generates multi-order time-domain integral and differential records from the predicted multiple data. These records are then transformed into the curvilinear wave domain. In this domain, multi-trace least-squares filtering is applied to eliminate the multiple components from the original seismic data. Theoretical models and field data experiments show that this method is highly adaptive to prediction errors of multiples, effectively separating primary waves from multiples. It outperforms conventional curvilinear wave transformation methods in terms of multiple eliminative accuracy and preserving the amplitude of the primary waves.
