资源简介:
Overview This document provides an overview of four datasets used in the project: mc_daily_final.csv, mc_hourly_final75.csv, matings1.csv, and founders.csv. Each row represents the interaction between the focal female and one of the two males in the mate choice test. All analyses and plots in the manuscript can be produced with the attached "Manuscript_opposites_attract.R" script >Dataset 1: mc_daily_final.csv Purpose: Tracks daily interactions and preferences of individuals over multiple days. Columns female & male: 6-digit IDs of the female and male individuals in the interaction. day: Day of the observation within the experiment (values 1-3). Female_solver & Male_solver: Indicates the solving status of female and male individuals (e.g., "solver," "nonsolver"). weightF & weightM: Weight measurements of female and male individuals (in g). duration: The duration of the female's stay with the respective male (in seconds). time_spent_mins: The duration of the female's stay with the respective male (in minutes). pct_daily: Percentage of the total daily time the female spent with this male. >Dataset 2: mc_hourly_final75.csv Purpose: Logs hourly interactions and preferences, providing more granular time resolution than mcd_full. Columns exp_hour: The experimental hour (values 1-75). female & male: 6-digit IDs of the female and male individuals in the interaction. duration: The duration of the female's stay with the respective male (in seconds). time_spent_mins: The duration of the female's stay with the respective male (in minutes). pct_hourly: Percentage of the total daily time the female spent with this male. >Dataset 3: matings1.csv Purpose: Tracks inferred parental relationships and offspring details for observed matings. Key Variables InferredDad & InferredMum: IDs of the inferred father and mother for each offspring. offspring_born: First monitoring the offspring was detected (e.g., "m6", "m4"). SolverMum & SolverDad: Indicates whether the parents are solvers or nonsolvers. assortative: Numeric value indicating assortative mating tendencies (0: both parents are non-solvers, 0.5: one parent is a solver and one is a non-solver, 1: both parents are solvers). count: Count of offspring recorded for a specific pair at this specific monitoring event. >Dataset 4: founders.csv Purpose: Contains detailed individual-level data for the founders of the enclosures. Key Variables idshort: 6-digit ID for each individual. sex: Gender of the individual. solver: Indicates whether the individual is a solver (1) or nonsolver (0). W0–W6: Weight measurements across monitoring (in g). noprob: Number of problems solved by every individual reads: Number of reads at the entrance of the problem-solving box.
