This paper investigates the vacuum extraction process conditions of total saponins from Sapindus mukorossi Gaertn. and their herbicidal activity. Total saponins were extracted from the fruits of Sapindus mukorossi Gaertn. using water as the solvent via vacuum extraction, and the inhibitory effect of the obtained Sapindus saponin extract on the root systems of red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) was discussed.
