生物地层是古生代年代地层划分与对比的基础。泰国西部地区在早古生代位于滇缅马地体之上,古地理亲缘关系与我国的滇西保山以及西藏羌塘地体非常密切。而在此之前此地区的奥陶纪重要生物门类的生物地层序列研究基础较为薄弱。早古生代标准化石的收集和识别将有助于我们理解滇缅马地块的地层序列和沉积盆地演化进程,并和我国青藏地区进行对比。本次研究在泰国西部Wat Mong Kratae剖面Tha Manao组(滇缅马地块,奥陶系大坪阶泰国西部Wat Mong Kratae剖面,GPS坐标:14°25′57″ N, 99°7′23″ E)采集和鉴定了大量的古生代化石,主要包括牙形类Drepanoistodus pitjanti、Erraticodon patu、Protopanderodus nogamii、头足类Wutinoceras sp.、Armenoceras sp.、Wadema sp.。据此Tha Manao组的时代可以确定为弗洛晚期到达瑞威尔早期。本数据集包括上述剖面的古生物化石鉴定单。

Biostratigraphy constitutes the foundation for the subdivision and correlation of Paleozoic chronostratigraphy. During the Early Paleozoic, western Thailand was part of the Dian-Myanmar Terrane, with close paleogeographic affinity to the Baoshan area in western Yunnan and the Qiangtang Terrane in Tibet, China. Prior to this study, the research basis for biostratigraphic sequences of key Ordovician taxa in this region was relatively limited. Collection and identification of Early Paleozoic index fossils will aid in understanding the stratigraphic sequences and sedimentary basin evolution of the Dian-Myanmar Terrane, and enable stratigraphic correlations with the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau region of China. This study collected and identified a substantial number of Paleozoic fossils from the Tha Manao Formation (Dian-Myanmar Terrane; Ordovician Dapingian Stage, Wat Mong Kratae Section, western Thailand; GPS coordinates: 14°25′57″ N, 99°7′23″ E), mainly including conodonts *Drepanoistodus pitjanti*, *Erraticodon patu*, *Protopanderodus nogamii*, and cephalopods *Wutinoceras* sp., *Armenoceras* sp., *Wadema* sp. Based on these fossils, the age of the Tha Manao Formation can be constrained to the late Floian to early Darriwilian stages of the Ordovician. This dataset contains the paleontological fossil identification sheets from the aforementioned section.
