These files relate to girls committed to the Training School and to those inmates who are now over the age of twenty-one years. The majority of the inmates are second offenders. Each file comprises the following: personal history cards which relate to the background of the inmate; copies of medical reports, both physical and psychological; orders of the court which relate to the offence of the inmate; copies of letters sent to the Department and parents concerning the inmate; progress reports; shelter reports; and the suitability of the inmate for discharge. In some cases, personal letters received by the inmate, photographs, and letters written to the Superintendent from the inmate after discharge are included. (3/9072-9142). 71 boxes.
